Short version: Pizza Calculator does not require an account or personal information to use the calculator. We serve personalised ads via Google AdSense, which uses cookies for ad targeting. We do not sell your personal data.

Overview

Pizza Calculator ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at pizzacalculator.pro. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use our free pizza planning tool, and how third-party services we work with — including Google AdSense — may process your data.

You do not need to create an account, log in, or provide any personal information to use any feature of the calculator. However, like most ad-supported websites, third-party services on this site may set cookies on your device.

Data We Collect

Information you provide

The Pizza Calculator does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifying information. All inputs you enter (group size, pizza size, appetite level, etc.) are processed locally in your browser and are not transmitted to our servers.

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address for the purpose of sending you periodic updates. See the Third-Party Services section for details on how that data is handled.

If you contact us via our contact form, your message and email address are processed by a Google Apps Script web app and stored in a private Google Sheet solely to allow us to respond to your enquiry.

Automatically collected information

Like most websites, our servers may automatically collect the following technical data when you visit:

  • IP address (may be anonymised depending on hosting configuration)
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system
  • Referring URL
  • Pages visited and time of visit
  • General geographic location (country/city level only)

This data is processed in aggregate form for analytics and security purposes and is not linked to any individual.

Data collected by third parties

Third-party services embedded on this site — including Google AdSense — may independently collect data about your visit. Please refer to the Advertising & Cookies section and each provider's own privacy policy for full details.

How We Use It

We use the data we collect only to:

  • Understand how the tool is being used so we can improve it
  • Monitor uptime, performance, and errors
  • Prevent abuse or excessive automated usage
  • Send newsletter emails to subscribers who have opted in
  • Respond to contact form enquiries
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations
  • Serve relevant advertisements through Google AdSense to fund free operation of this site

Cookies & Local Storage

Pizza Calculator uses browser localStorage to save your most recent calculator settings locally on your device. This means your preferences persist between visits without any data being sent to our servers. You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser's site data, or by clicking the "Reset" button in the calculator.

In addition to our own localStorage usage, third-party services embedded on this site set cookies on your device. These include:

  • Google AdSense — sets DoubleClick and related cookies to serve personalised advertisements based on your browsing behaviour.
  • Newsletter provider — may set cookies or tracking pixels if you interact with newsletter sign-up or confirmation emails.

For a full breakdown of individual cookies, see the Cookies Table below.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services. Each operates under its own privacy policy and may process data independently of us:

  • Google AdSense — serves personalised advertisements on this site. AdSense uses DoubleClick cookies to track browsing behaviour for ad targeting. See the Advertising & Cookies section for full details and opt-out links.
  • Google Analytics — if present or added in the future, Google Analytics measures site traffic and usage patterns using cookies. Any such use will be disclosed in the Cookies Table.
  • Google Apps Script / Google Sheets — newsletter subscriber email addresses are stored in a private Google Sheet via a Google Apps Script web app. Google processes this data as part of its standard Workspace infrastructure. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Web hosting provider — our hosting provider processes server logs (including IP addresses, request paths, and timestamps) as part of normal infrastructure operation. Logs are retained for up to 90 days.
  • Google Apps Script — contact form submissions (name, email, message) are processed by a Google Apps Script web app and stored in a private Google Sheet. No third-party form service is used. See Google's Privacy Policy.

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade personal information with third parties for their own commercial purposes.

Advertising & Cookies

This website is monetised through Google AdSense, a third-party advertising service operated by Google LLC. Google AdSense allows us to display advertisements in exchange for free access to this tool.

How Google AdSense works

Google AdSense serves personalised advertisements based on your interests and browsing behaviour. To do this, Google uses cookies — including DoubleClick cookies (such as IDE and DSID) — to track your activity across websites that use Google advertising services. This allows Google to build an interest profile and show you ads that are more likely to be relevant to you.

Google's data practices

  • Google may use data from your visits to this site and other sites to personalise the ads you see.
  • Google acts as a data controller for the data it collects through AdSense.
  • You can review and manage Google's use of your data at: google.com/settings/ads
  • You can read Google's full privacy policy at: policies.google.com/privacy

Opting out of personalised ads

You have several options to control or opt out of personalised advertising:

  • Visit Google Ad Settings to manage or opt out of personalised ads from Google.
  • Visit the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page or the Your Online Choices tool (for EU/UK users) to opt out of interest-based advertising from participating networks.
  • Use your browser's cookie settings to block or delete cookies at any time. Note that opting out of personalised ads does not mean you will see fewer ads — it means the ads you see will be less targeted.

Newsletter provider

Our newsletter is managed via Google Apps Script and Google Sheets. When you subscribe, your email address is stored in a private Google Sheet. We do not use third-party email marketing platforms. Emails are sent directly without tracking pixels. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any newsletter email.

The table below lists the cookies and local storage items used on this site, including those set by third parties:

Legal basis for processing

  • Legitimate interest — server log data and aggregate analytics are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating, improving, and securing this website.
  • Consent — advertising cookies (Google AdSense / DoubleClick) and non-essential cookies are set only where you have given consent via our cookie consent mechanism. You may withdraw consent at any time (see below).
  • Contract performance — if you subscribe to our newsletter, we process your email address to fulfil the subscription you requested.

Your rights under GDPR

  • Right to access — You may request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") — You may request deletion of your personal data where we have no overriding legal basis to retain it.
  • Right to data portability — You may request your personal data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Right to object — You may object to processing based on legitimate interest, including for direct marketing.
  • Right to restrict processing — You may request that we limit how we use your data in certain circumstances.
  • Right not to be subject to automated decision-making — We do not make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on individuals.
  • Right to withdraw consent — Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

How to withdraw consent for advertising cookies

You can withdraw consent for personalised advertising cookies at any time by:

  • Using your browser's cookie settings to delete or block cookies from Google domains.
  • Visiting Google Ad Settings to opt out of personalised ads.
  • Using the Your Online Choices tool to manage preferences across participating ad networks.

Data retention

  • Server logs — retained for up to 90 days, then deleted or anonymised.
  • Newsletter subscriber data — retained until you unsubscribe. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any newsletter email or by contacting us.
  • Contact form submissions — retained only as long as necessary to respond to your enquiry.

Lodging a complaint

If you believe we have not handled your personal data lawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority. In the United Kingdom, this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk. In the EEA, please contact your national data protection authority.

CCPA Rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) provides you with specific rights regarding your personal information.

Categories of personal information we collect

  • Identifiers — IP addresses collected via server logs; email addresses collected for newsletter subscriptions.
  • Internet or other electronic network activity — pages visited, browser type, referring URL, collected automatically by server logs and analytics.
  • Inferences — Google AdSense may draw inferences from your browsing activity to build an interest profile for ad targeting. This is done by Google as a third party; refer to Google's privacy policy for details.

Your rights under CCPA / CPRA

  • Right to know — You have the right to request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources of that information, our business purpose for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
  • Right to delete — You have the right to request deletion of personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing — You have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. See our statement below.
  • Right to correct — You have the right to request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to limit use of sensitive personal information — We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined under CPRA.

We do not sell personal information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for monetary consideration. We do share data with Google AdSense for advertising purposes, which may be considered "sharing" under CPRA. You may opt out of this sharing by visiting Google Ad Settings or by using a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser.

Non-discrimination

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. We will not deny you goods or services, charge you different prices, or provide a different level of service because you exercised a privacy right.

To exercise your CCPA rights, please contact us at the address in the Contact Us section. We will respond within 45 days as required by law.

Children's Privacy

Pizza Calculator is a general-purpose utility tool not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where required by applicable law). If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

Please note that Google AdSense is configured for general audiences. If you are a parent or guardian and have concerns about advertising shown to a minor, please refer to Google's Privacy Policy and Google's family safety resources.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, third-party services, or applicable law. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes — such as the addition of new advertising partners or material changes to data collection — we may provide a more prominent notice. Your continued use of the site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
